THE RAVEN (Apr 27, 2012)

Starring:  John Cusack, Alice Eve, and Luke Evans
Director:  James McTeigue
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  111 min
Genre:  Mystery | Thriller
I believe John Cusack has found an apex in his career!  I don’t remember a movie in which he has played that is as good as this one.
Ladies and Gents, this movie is oh so worth going to the theater to see.  It’s not one you want to wait for it to come out on DVD, trust me!  I am going to  stick my neck out and say that the portrayal of Edgar Allen Poe brought to the silver screen in this film is going to be worthy of a nomination for awards this year.  If you remember, I said the same thing about a movie that came out early on last year “The Help” and I didn’t miss on that one and I hope I'm not wrong on this one either.
Cusack plays the part of Poe nearly to a tee with his indulging in the spirits and the work done for newspapers casting pointed criticism at his contemporaries.  The storyline has been put together to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.  And trust me it did just that!
Please don’t miss this one, it is so worth the time out of your busy schedule to see.
Cudo’s Mr. Cusack for the job well done.  I don’t think they could have cast a better individual for the part.
My Rating: 5 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 5 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.
“Let’s Talk Movies” As always, your input is a necessity to this blog. This movie was just ok to me. I think John Cusack is an amazing actor and played the part to perfection. But, I just couldn't get into this one.
