I think this one will surprise you.  It did me after all the bad reviews I have heard or read.  I was pleasantly surprised at how the writers and director managed to mesh the scenes of past with those of the present.

You know what I’m talking about if you have seen any movies that jump from one time period to another.  It happens in this movie, but I never lost track of where the film was going.  The attention of the audience could have been a problem, but this was completely overcome by good acting and writing, thanks guys you got it right!

The cast, Rachael Singer (Helen Mirren), Young Rachael (Jessica Chastain), Stephan Gold (Tom Wilkinson), Young Stephan (Martin Csokas), David Peretz (Ciaran Hinds), and Young David (Sam Worthington), all play excellent roles.  Rachael, Stephan, and David were sent into East Berlin in 1966 by the Mossad to bring back the man known as the Surgeon of Birkenau for trial in Israel.

As the plot thickens, the agents set up the capture and delivery of this “monster”.  Things go as planned all the way up to the transfer from the East to the West.

Your asking does the plot end with the capture and deportation as planned?  Here is where the plot takes a twist and I’m not going to ruin this one for you.

Please go see it and I believe you will be as satisfied with the outcome as was I!

My Rating: 3 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 3 Stars for those not enjoying the better life with Irish Ale.

Note: For those of you who do not know, this is a remake of a 2007 film of the same name, I didn’t see this one so I have no comments on content vs. content, but would love to hear about it if you did see it.
