TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY (Dec 9, 2011)

Starring:  Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, and Tom Hardy
Director: Tomas Alfredson
Rated: R  -  Runtime: 127 min
Genre:  Thriller
Opening as a limited release on Dec 9th, we have been graced by the opening here in the  Phoenix area this week.  What took so long?  Read on....
If you have read my postings you have noticed that I am not a big fan of timeframe hopping in a movie unless the writer and director have done their job.  Most of the time we will find that jumping around in time is really confusing.  This movie is one of those!
The first 20 minutes of the movie are about as confusing as they could have possibly made it.  One has no idea where the film is going, jumping back and forth from present to past so many times without a sense of direction.  I kept asking myself when are they going to tie together the events that have taken place?  During that first 20 minutes I saw 8 people leave the theater and not return.  Too bad they didn’t come back because from the 30 minute point in the film it all came together and the film began to make sense.
Bottom line - it was an OK spy movie (good guy, bad guy, who done it film).  I enjoyed the acting in the movie as it makes one believe the story, and that’s what it’s all about right?  This is not one that I will go see a second time, but worth the time to sit through once.
My Rating: 2 1/2 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 2 1/2 Stars for those not enjoying the better life with Irish Ale.
“Let’s Talk Movies” All input is appreciated, and I hope you come back here after every movie and let us know how you rate it.  Don’t forget to become a fan, and use the boxes below to give your reaction to it - Good, Bad, or Ugly...  Also, please help in getting this site greater recognition by clicking on the box “Recommend this on Google” (it’s the +1 box).
