WANDERLUST (Feb 24, 2012)

Starring:  Jennifer Aniston, Paul Rudd, Malin Akerman, and Justin Theroux
Director:  David Wain
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  98 min
Genre:  Comedy
You will laugh your ass off at the shenanigans that take place in this film.
If you don’t like nudity on the silver screen then this is one you will probably shy away from, but with that being said if you're going to see Jennifer Aniston without clothes you won’t find it here.
There are scenes with boobs and penises but more for the humor than to be offensive.  FUNNY is the bottom line!
Want to have a good laugh?  Go See it!!  Don’t like to laugh?  Don’t See it!!
The writers have put this together so skillfully that it has a laugh at nearly every turn of events.  I know I can’t give all the credit to the writer’s as the director did a fantastic job at bringing us together with this entire cast of actors/actresses and making this the comedy and fun-filled movie that it is!
My Rating: 3 1/2 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 3 1/2 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

GONE (Feb 24, 2012)

Starring:  Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Carpenter, Wes Bentley, and Daniel Sunjata
Director:  Heitor Dhalia
Rated: PG-13  -  Runtime:  94 min
Genre:  Drama | Thriller
Amanda Seyfried put forth one of her best performances in this film!  She has always been on my top 10 list of actresses that could bring to the screen a performance just such as this one.
Jill (Seyfried), a young woman, having had her life torn apart by a tragic incident involving a serial killer, a police department who never believed her story, and even a shrink who worked to get her back behind the confines of a mental institution, is determined that her story is true and is out to set the facts straight after her sister Molly (Wickersham) comes up missing from her home.  Jill is a woman on a mission to see the man who put her in this circumstance regardless of what the officials in this town have decided to be her destiny.
In short, the story line is fantastic and the acting is outstanding, and the ending.... Well it too is out of this world!  This is a Must See, and make sure you are ready for the ending, awesome!!!
My Rating: 4 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 4 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

ACT OF VALOR (Feb 24, 2012)

Starring:  Alex Veadov, Roselyn Sanchez, Nestor Serrano, and Alexander Asefa
Director:  Mike McCoy & Scott Waugh
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  111 min
Genre:  Action | Adventure | Thriller
This film will keep you on the edge of your seat nearly throughout the entire film.  It engages the Navy Seals in an act of total commitment to each other in only a way that I am certain any of the forces for maintaining the way of life we enjoy so well in the U.S. would do.  Be it the Armed Forces, Police Departments, Fire Departments or any others that put their life on the line for you and me on a daily basis.
You can’t come away from this film not appreciating what extreme measures that they go through to maintain our freedom and what we take so commonplace as our life from day to day.  To all of you who have served in any public and national level of security and safety, I commit this to you...  “Job well done and appreciated so much!”
With this film it makes no matter how the acting was carried out, but instead what is really behind the story.  I must admit that the filming of this makes everything look so realistic and brings each movie goer into the movie as though we are an actual part of the events.
My Rating: 4 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 4 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

GOOD DEEDS (Feb 24, 2012)

Starring:  Tyler Perry, Gabrielle Union, Thandie Newton, and Eddie Cibrian
Director:  Tyler Perry
Rated: PG-13  -  Runtime:  111 min
Genre:  Comedy | Drama | Romance
It was much like I thought it would be prior to seeing it, if you're out to see a movie that offers you a challenging story line and you like to be surprised with every turn of the plot you WON'T find it here.  This movie was so damn predictable that during the opening scenes one could already know what was going to be the outcome of this movie.  I'm not sure what the writer had in mind but I don't think he was targeting an adult audience.
Don't get me wrong, I liked the content and direction it took, but it was simply boring after the first 15 minutes.... At any rate moviegoer's if you should disagree with me please write your comments.  Thank goodness we have 2 more Tyler Perry movies in production now......  Hoping to see better from him in "Madea's Witness Protection" (comedy - currently filming), and "The Marriage Counselor" (drama - post production)..
My Rating: 1 1/2 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 1 1/2 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.
