ONE FOR THE MONEY (Jan 27, 2012)

Starring:  Katherine Heigl, Jason O’Mara, Daniel Sunjata, and John Leguizamo
Director:  Julie Anne Robinson
Rated: PG-13  -  Runtime:  106 min
Genre:  Action | Comedy | Crime | Thriller
When Katherine Heigl is in a film it is almost a given that it’s going to be a good!  This one is no different, her ability to bring to the screen an almost unparalleled  female sense of humor along with this comes her acting skills.  It doesn’t matter what she has played in, somehow it just ends up being great!  I have always been a huge Julia Roberts fan for this same reason.  But with Ms. Heigl’s presence I am about to switch my allegiance from Julia to Katherine....Nah, just kidding, I’m gonna claim two favorites, yah thats how I’m gonna roll with this one!  My wife wouldn’t believe that I am writing this so I am going to wait to see how long it takes her to read this review.....
Great job of bringing to the screen another comedy with a flare of Action.  Being completely out of her league, Stephanie Plum (Katherine Heigl) aka 'Cupcake' an ex lingerie sales manager goes up against an apparently rouge cop Joe Morelli (Jason O’Mara) and with the scenes that take place from there the viewing audience is in for some great action and a lot of laughs.  Grab your popcorn, soda, nacho’s or whatever your pleasure may be.  Sit back and enjoy this one as much as I did, you won’t be disappointed.
My Rating: 4 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 4 Stars for those not enjoying the better life with Irish Ale.

THE GREY (Jan 27, 2012)

Starring:  Liam Neeson, Dermot Mulroney, Frank Grillo, and Dallas Roberts
Director:  Joe Carnahan
Rated: PG-13  -  Runtime:  117 min
Genre:  Action | Adventure | Drama | Thriller
A great movie overall!  The acting was as suspected from a Liam Neeson film, as was the action that we have come to expect from his movies.  It kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next.  7 men surviving a plane crash in the middle of a desolate area somewhere on the frozen tundra lends to the suspense that follows.  How to get out of the area, which way to traverse, and how to survive the elements of such a condition.  Burr !!!  It almost makes you cold watching the film.  I am really glad that in this age of theatrical presentations we haven’t gone to the extent of bringing to the viewer the climatic changes.  We would have had to been adorned with cold weather gear to watch this one!
Having given you the Pro’s of the movie and seemingly no Con’s, now I’m going to burst the bubble.
