More to come, stay tuned...
Ok ladies, gents, boys and girls, I know you are all agreeing with me that this movie has topped any of it’s preceding lead-ins.  This one is well worth you going out to see as it is not only a great action filled movie but the humor will bring laughter from the entire audience.  I heard a couple of young children telling their mom how much they liked the movie and asking her if they could go back in and watch it again.  This being said from a child who has just sat through a 2 hour and 22 minute movie and wanting to turn around and sit through it again is in my estimation outstanding.  The writers put enough action laced with the perfect amount of comedy to keep the attention of even a 6 or 7 year old child wanting for more of the same!
As for myself, well I don’t need to say any more than it’s a great film with all the making of one that will sell big at the box office for weeks to come, not to mention the amount of sales that will be produced from DVD’s afterword.
With a budget of 200mil this film is well on its way to becoming an Iconic Superhero movie with one of the highest grossing box office openings of all times.  It would in short, be a shame if you don’t see it!!
Side note;  If you have the opportunity don’t miss it in the IMAX format, you won’t be disappointed in the least.
My Rating: 5 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 5 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

THINK LIKE A MAN (Apr 20, 2012)

Starring:  Chris Brown, Gabrielle Union, Micael Ealy, Megan Good, Regina Hall, Jerry Ferrara, and Kevin Hart
Director:  Tim Story
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  122 min
Genre:  Comedy
Ladies this is one you will truly enjoy, a very comedic approach at how a woman can upstage a man trying to ‘get the cookie’ (you’ll understand ‘get the cookie’ if you’ve seen the film) instead of actually wanting a lasting relationship with the big “M” word attached.
The humor in this film is great as the women get an insight to how a man thinks and put it to use against the men they’re dating or have been in long relationships with with no apparent next step in sight.  The antics the guys go through to please a woman in this film are really great.  At times you would think they were chasing the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow only to find it just out of reach.
Oh, but there is more, the guys get hold of the same play book from which the women have been reading and turn things about .....  Well almost, lies start to catch up with the guys and yep you guessed it, the guys are screwed.  The end ..... Oh now you know I’m not gonna give that to you, so go see the movie and let me know what you thought.
My Rating: 3 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 3 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

THE LUCKY ONE (Apr 20, 2012)

Starring:  Zak Efron, Taylor Schilling, and Blythe Danner
Director:  Scott Hicks
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  101 min
Genre:  Drama | Romance
Often read reviews that the critics have given and I’m glad I didn’t listen to them.  MSN; “The Lucky One” 1 star, Washington Post; “The Lucky One” 1 1/2 stars, you can see where this is going so I don’t need to go on.
In my estimation the movie has been very well put together from scene one on through the end.  Chick Flick?  Not really Logan (Efron) during his final tour with the Marines is setting on the ground when the sun glistens on an object laying in the dirt, he gets up to retrieve it from the dirt, sees a photo of a woman and on the backside it says Stay Safe.  As he puts the photo in his hip pouch and turns around all hell breaks loose.  From that point on he is in several incidents where he should have been killed but somehow he avoids any harm leaving him convinced that the photo is his guardian angel and is bound and determined to locate this woman and thank her for his safety.
My Rating: 3 1/2 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 3 1/2 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

THE RAVEN (Apr 27, 2012)

Starring:  John Cusack, Alice Eve, and Luke Evans
Director:  James McTeigue
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  111 min
Genre:  Mystery | Thriller
I believe John Cusack has found an apex in his career!  I don’t remember a movie in which he has played that is as good as this one.
Ladies and Gents, this movie is oh so worth going to the theater to see.  It’s not one you want to wait for it to come out on DVD, trust me!  I am going to  stick my neck out and say that the portrayal of Edgar Allen Poe brought to the silver screen in this film is going to be worthy of a nomination for awards this year.  If you remember, I said the same thing about a movie that came out early on last year “The Help” and I didn’t miss on that one and I hope I'm not wrong on this one either.
Cusack plays the part of Poe nearly to a tee with his indulging in the spirits and the work done for newspapers casting pointed criticism at his contemporaries.  The storyline has been put together to keep the audience on the edge of their seats.  And trust me it did just that!
Please don’t miss this one, it is so worth the time out of your busy schedule to see.
Cudo’s Mr. Cusack for the job well done.  I don’t think they could have cast a better individual for the part.

SAFE (Apr 27, 2012)

Starring:  Jason Statham, Catherine Chan, and Chris Sarandon
Director:  Boaz Yakin
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  94 min
Genre:  Action | Crime | Thriller
Great movie, you are going to like this one for sure.  Action packed, this one will keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the following scenes. You won’t leave the theater feeling that you didn’t get your money’s worth.
Luke (Statham) plays the part of an ex NY cop, and Mei (Chan) plays the part of an intelligent youth exceptional with numbers who has been abducted from her home in China and brought to New York to work for her uncle in running his illegal activities. Of course Statham plays the part he is known for in the Transporter, a rough, tough, and ruthless in getting the job done.
The action ranges from good to excellent, I dare you to find a moment when you feel that the movie drags.  This is a “Must See” in my book, let me know what you think...
My Rating: 4  Mugs of Guinness - aka; 4 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

THE CABIN IN THE WOODS (Apr 13, 2012)

Starring:  Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, and Anna Hutchison
Director:  Drew Goddard
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  95 min
Genre:  Horror | Thriller
Really? It took 95 minutes to give this outcome?  It’s more like it took that long to write this one .... I’m not gonna pull any punches here, this movie sucks.  It’s not worth your hard earned money to spend on it, let alone the time out of your life wasted on such a poorly done film.
But for those of you who don’t mind wasting money and time and like poorly written scripts with the use of Zombies, Ghosts, and all kinds of weird things killing people then for gods sake don’t listen to me. (Oh yah, I forgot to mention you see Sigourney Weaver get killed again, kind of like in “PAUL” except that movie was a good one).
My Rating: 0 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 0 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.

THE FIVE-YEAR ENGAGEMENT (Apr 27, 2012)

Starring:  Jason Segel, Emily Blunt and Chris Platt
Director:  Nicholas Stoller
Rated: R  -  Runtime:  124 min
Genre:  Comedy | Romance
I’m back from my Hawaiian Cruise and will try to catch up, so here it goes.
I’ve listened to several people who have seen the movie, some liked it, some hated it it was about 50/50.  As for me, I thought the movie was well worth my time.  It kept my interest in the film as well as giving me moments when I found myself laughing out loud at the content.  If you enjoy a good comedy laced with the romantic side this one is for you.
Between Tom (Segel) and Violet (Blunt) they keep the comedy coming in a special portrayal of what would happen between to people in love and torn due to the problems that arise because of their jobs.  Tom is a successful chef in San Francisco and Violet has received an offer from a college in Wisconsin for a internship in Psychology department.  Due to the timeframe Tom decided to up and quit his position in SF and relocate with Violet to Wisconsin.  Now, imagine if you can how this would play out in your life and how you would work it through...  The ups and downs of the two caused some very comedic situations and in the end... No, I’m not gonna screw up the movie by giving you the ending.
Go see this movie and let us know what you thought.
My Rating: 3 1/2 Mugs of Guinness - aka; 3 1/2 Stars for those being too young to enjoy the Irish Ale.
